MSHIKAMANO FOUNDATION

Equity | Solidarity | Human Rights

Mshikamano Foundation is Ugandan non-profit, faith-based humanitarian organization rooted in the principles of international solidarity, social justice, compassion and mutual respect. The organization was founded to respond to the socio-economic needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups of our society to improve their lives without discrimination.

We support the principle of social justice in multiple ways, from addressing economic inequality to access to education, healthcare, and the protection of human rights, with the aim of creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

The protection of human rights is at the heart of the Mshikamano Foundation’s paying attention to the needs of particularly marginalized and vulnerable communities, such as refugees, indigenous peoples and those living with disabilities.

Our purpose is to foster significant, long-term solutions to  improve people’s lives and empower them to create a just and inclusive society by addressing all forms of social injustice (economic inequality, inadequate access to education and healthcare and discrimination against marginalized groups and vulnerable communities including women, children, youth, disabled persons in Uganda and to promote their social economic well-being, including women’s education and rights, as well as children’s social, educational, cultural and economic situation, and other life-changing resources for all marginalized groups in Uganda  through the spirit of Ubuntu – emphasizing interconnectedness and shared humanity while building inclusive ecosystems and alliances.
